Why Intern at The Family Place?

  • Hands-on learning with one of the nation’s leading family violence agencies.

  • Support from seasoned professionals committed to your growth.

  • Opportunities to serve directly in programs that make a lasting difference.

  • A resume-building experience that combines purpose and professional development.

The Family Place welcomes students who are passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence. Our Internship Program provides hands-on experience in three distinct areas at one of the country’s leading family violence agencies.

Graduate Level
MSW Internships

Particularly for the foundation year, these internships focus on building a broad base of social work knowledge, values and skills. We introduce students to general social work practice through work on our hotline and in our three emergency shelters.

Graduate Level Clinical Counselor Internships

Designed for individuals on LPC or LMSW tracks, these internships prepare students to be clinical therapists with work in our Central Dallas Counseling Center and Southern Dallas Community Center.

Undergraduate Internships

These general internships provide support to various departments in the agency and help students gain valuable work experience in areas including fundraising, human resources, operations and other support roles.
